⚖️ Temperance Booth – “Balance for Your Bear”
Goal of the Booth | Help children learn that healthy living includes balance and moderation in the choices we make each day for our bodies.
Bible Verse | “…the fruit of the Spirit is… self-control.” — Galatians 5:22–23
Booth Setup
- Set up the provided balance scale in a visible, easy-to-access area.
- Place all “healthy choice” cards or items nearby for children to select from.
- Ensure space for families to gather around and participate together.
- Have circle stickers and pens ready.
How the Booth Runs
- Welcome children and families warmly to the booth.
- Explain that they will help their bear make balanced choices using the scale.
- Invite children to place different “healthy choices” onto the balance scale.
- Discuss together how too much or too little—even of good things—can tip the balance.
- Encourage parents and children to make choices together and talk through their thinking.
- Invite families to write on the circle stickers something they need more of in their life and something they need less in their life for balance. Place circle stickers on scales in passport book.
- When the activity is complete, place a star sticker on the child’s completion circle in their passport.
