We are pleased to announce that Marc Nelson has accepted the role of principal at Auburn Adventist Academy for the 2025-2026 school year!

Marc is a dedicated and spiritually focused educational leader with extensive experience in Adventist and career-focused education. His passion for integrating faith, learning, and hands-on experiences aligns perfectly with Auburn Adventist Academy’s mission to nurture students spiritually, academically, and practically.

Marc is currently completing his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Andrews University (expected May 2025) and brings a strong background in technology education, administration, and career and technical training. His leadership experience includes serving as Principal & Business Manager at Maxwell Adventist Academy (Kenya), Interim Principal at Battle Creek Academy (Michigan), and High School Teacher & Department Head in Public Education (Michigan).

Michelle Wachter, Vice President for Education at the Washington Conference and interim principal at AAA, shared her excitement:

“We are thrilled to welcome Marc to the Auburn Adventist Academy team! He is a dedicated educational leader who exemplifies servant leadership with integrity. With a wealth of experience in guiding Adventist school communities, Marc’s passion and commitment to Christ-based education will be a true blessing to our Academy. Welcome, Marc!”

As AAA prepares for this transition, Michelle adds:

“As we look ahead to the coming school year, I am excited to collaborate with Marc to ensure a smooth transition as he steps into the role of principal. I have no doubt that his leadership and heart for Christ-centered education will be a tremendous blessing to AAA.”

She also shares a heartfelt message as she returns to her full-time role at the Washington Conference:

“While I will be returning full-time to the conference office, I will continue to pray for and support this wonderful school. Thank you for an amazing year, and I look forward to seeing how God continues to lead AAA under Marc’s leadership.”
