Do You Have a Rich Uncle?

Do you have a rich uncle? I don’t.
Or if I do, I certainly don’t know his name and pretty sure that he doesn’t know my name either. Any hope of a large sum of money coming from a rich uncle to me is pretty much out of the question.
This week the world saw a new person crowned the richest person in the world.
Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and of Space X, is now the richest man in the world.
When he was informed of his new status, it is reported that he said, “How strange, well back to work.” One article stated that Elon seemed to understand that riches are fleeting. In fact, Elon has been selling each of his properties and has stated that he plans to own no homes.
While I have no idea why Elon Musk says or does the things that he does, I do know that while on this earth there may not be a rich uncle in my life that instead I along with all followers of Christ are heirs of Jesus Christ. I love what Romans 8:15-17 tells us about our rich and grace filled God.
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, 'Abba, Father.' The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
We have an amazing God who calls us His children.
No matter what is happening in the world right now (and there is lots of stuff happening) we have a Father that likes to be called Daddy and likes to call us His children. He has put us in His family, no matter our skin color, age or gender, and He likes for His family to grow.
