 <itunes:subtitle>Reaching The Postmodern Mind</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>As ministers in the most secular and postmodern region of the United States, this is a powerful, information-packed seminar you won’t want to miss!</itunes:summary>
 <description>Seminar Description:
It is becoming increasingly obvious that we have crossed an epochal line in the historic development of human experience. The way people process reality and ascribe value is now based more on whether things make emotional and relational sense than if they make mere logical sense. No longer do we live in a world that readily responds to God as a list of facts, no matter how provable. God must now be introduced as a personal being with a personal interest in our lives. The more vulnerable, sensitive and even fragile God can be portrayed, the more attractive He will be. Propositional preaching must give way to storyline, vibrant and alive with characters. If we are to reach the increasing secular audience of the postmodern west, we need to stop forming our preaching around giving doctrinal answers to questions most postmodern’s are not asking, and rather tell the story of a personal God’s pursuit of humanity for the purpose of engaging us in an eternal love-relationship with Himself. It is no longer adequate to merely convince the intellect; we must also capture hearts with a sense of God’s passion for humanity. Psychologically, emotionally and socially the postmodern culture that surrounds us as American ministers is poised for a revolutionary new picture of God. As it turns out, Adventism just happens to best suited among Christian Church’s to speak into the aching void that is the post-modern soul. Adventism holds within its “doctrinal package” the raw conceptual materials to construct the most accurate and beautiful picture of God the world has ever seen. We have within our intellectual possession the pieces of the puzzle with which to assemble the story of God’s love that the world longs to hear.
